Herman Cain is turning the blame to Texas Governor Rick Perry’s campaign, citing two different people with ties to Perry that could have leaked information on Cain's past. Republican pollster Chris Wilson, now working for a political action committee supporting Perry, claims he personally witnessed Herman Cain demonstrating inappropriate conduct toward a female employee while working with the National Restaurant Association. Wilson tells an Oklahoma radio station that several people knew about the incident, saying, “It was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact she left—everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up.” According to Herman Cain himself, the Perry connection comes from their consultant Curt Anderson, who consulted Cain during his 2003 Senate run and knew about the allegations. Governor Perry insists that his campaign had nothing to do with the Cain controversy, saying, “I’m disappointed that there is finger pointing going on.” However, the Perry campaign is doing just that. Yesterday, their communications director shifted the blame to their chief rival, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, saying, “There are much closer connections between the Restaurant Association, Cain, and the Romney camp than there are with us.”
