His column is really making the rounds today. He writes in today's Times that the super-rich should pay more in taxes.
He says:
"While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks."
Mike Barnicle and the rest of the panel discussed the column today, and the always insightful Wes Moore weighed in. Here's what he had to say:
"I think he couldn’t be more spot on. The fact that we have…three wars go on, and we’ve done nothing but cut taxes through that time. How are we expecting to pay for all of this? We’re not talking about people who make $250K. In the op-ed, he’s talking about people who make a million, and then having the second threshold be the $10 million mark. Having some type of parity is, I think, only fair if we’re going to ask for continued spending."
