Scarborough: Cameron's rise offers clues for D.C.

An excerpt from Joe's Politico column:

If Republicans defeat Mr. Obama next fall, they should not expect the flowering of a new conservative age in American politics. Unlike the elections of Thatcher and Reagan, which led to a decade of dominance for conservatives in the US and UK, the rise of David Cameron is unlikely to create a new governing philosophy that will bend the arc of Western politics. Instead, Cameron and his debt-slashing American allies are more likely to be treated as a necessary evil by the public. Like an exterminator called in to kill the rats and roaches before a big holiday party, they may be the only ones who can come to the rescue to clean things up. But that doesn't mean they should expect gratitude by an increasingly cranky public, or an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner after the job is done.
