A rooftop soccer field grows in East Harlem.
The Manchester City Football Club and diplomats from the UAE collaborated to help open a new soccer field on the roof of P.S. 72 Lexington Academy in East Harlem. The dedication for the new field happened yesterday, and today we had Gary Hopkins, consultant for the Club, and Youself Al Otaiba, United Arab Emirates Ambassador to the U.S., on the show to discuss why this is important for the community.
Construction on the field began in 2010, and it is the third soccer field the UAE Embassy and Manchester City have teamed up on in the U.S. Al Otaiba also points out the two are working on a new field in Chicago.
