A quick moment with Dennis Quaid

One of the cool aspects of working with a live, daily news program is the steady stream of interesting and influential people who drop by the show.

One of the cool aspects of working with a live, daily news program is the steady stream of interesting and influential people who drop by the show. Today actor Dennis Quaid stopped in to talk about his new film, "Soul Surfer," which is a dramatization of the real-life story of young surfer Bethany Hamilton. You may remember that on Halloween of 2003, Hamilton was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark. Hamilton lost her arm in that attack, but roughly a month later she began surfing again.

So, I had just a quick second to snap this picture before Dennis was off to wherever he had to be next. It's always somewhat nerve-racking to photograph people who generally have limited quantities of time in their day, but Dennis was cordial and cool about it. And yeah, I'm thankful that the "On Air" sign illuminated at just the right time.
