Our friends over at Politico just let it be known that Newt Gingrich has recently made a pledge -- a pledge he initially wouldn't sign. A pledge that may make a couple of folks snicker.
Seems as though Newt is ready to make a pledge to be faithful to his wife. This is at least per his pledge to the Iowa social conservative group The Family Leader. The group released this pledge in July. Newt outlines his thoughts on the pledge in this response, which includes some choice comments about his commitment, if chosen as president, to "vigorously enforce the Defense of Marriage Act" and "aggressively defend the constitutionality of DOMA."
