President Barack Obama won Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Michigan, so Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod gets to keep his mustache, but the politico has offered to still shave off his lip sweater of 40 years if Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski can raise $1 million for epilepsy research.

Last week, Axelrod and Scarborough placed facial hair bets on the election, but in a bit of bipartisan negotiations, headed up by Brzezinski, Scarborough will also avoid his half of the bet (he pledged to grow a mustache if the president won “Florida and/or North Carolina”) if he wears a fake mustache at a fundraising event and kicks off the fundraising with $10,000 donation to CURE Epilepsy. Obama lost North Carolina to Mitt Romney, but the votes are still being tallied in Florida.

“If we can raise a million dollars, I will shave the mustache,” Axelrod said on Morning Joe Thursday. “At least I’ll feel good about shaving it off!”
