Magic Johnson stopped by the show today -- to talk about his time with the Lakers, revitalizing urban areas, and, well, you know, buying the LA Dodgers.
And after all that, he was kind enough to hang out with us for a few and let us take some pictures in our green room. I wanted to tell him that though I wasn't much of a sports fan (yes, it's true), that as a cultural figure he ranked up there pretty high. As an elementary school student, I played a few seasons of basketball (before I discovered my true calling of being strongly opinionated about music), and I definitely remember closing my eyes on occasion and thinking I could do stuff like Magic.
It was cool getting to meet someone that had such a colossal reach over an entire generation's imagination.
