  • Spc. Devin A. Snyder, 20, of Cohocton, N.Y.
  • Pfc. Robert L. Voakes Jr., 21, of L' Anse, Michigan

Joe Scarborough used the Washington Post front page story as a jumping off point to discuss Afghanistan's true cost.

He said:

We are investing in a country losing billions through mismanagement. We're trying to rebuild Afghanistan while our roads and bridges are crumbling, while our school teachers are being fired, and while our infrastructure is collapsing. China is doubling down in their country, and we're doubling down in Afghanistan.

Mike Barnicle adds: "In a country where the median age is 18 years, 2 months; where the literacy rate is 23 percent; where women go to school for an average of 9 years. We can't do this. We don't belong there."
