What’s happening to women in California prisons


A new report from the Center for Investigative Reporting found that between 2006 and 2010, doctors with the California Department of Corrections sterilized nearly 150 female inmates  without state approval, and after allegedly coercing the women into undergoing the procedure. Melissa Harris-Perry’s panelists have a conversation about this report and the unique challenges facing women prisoners.
