The United States Department of Agriculture recently decided to allow China to export processed chicken products to the U.S. for the first time, as long as the chickens are raised and slaughtered in the U.S. or Canada first. With the trip about 7,000 miles each way, that would be 14,000 miles to get chicken on your plate.
