It’s Sunday in #nerdland and we have Hong Kong, taxes, the Secret Service and much more on the agenda.

We’ll have the latest on the first Ebola patient to be diagnosed in the U.S.. Thomas Duncan is now in critical condition and officials are closely monitoring those who have had close contact with him.

Then, we’ll examine the showdown in Hong Kong.  City officials have threatened to take all necessary actions to clear the streets of pro-democracy protesters by Monday. With increased violence and arrests rippling through the Umbrella Revolution, and now this ultimatum, the scene in Hong Kong is poised to escalate quickly. How will the mostly student-led protest movement respond to efforts to shut them down? Our panel includes Forbes columnist and author of "The Coming Collapse of China” Gordon Chang, National Review writer Jillian Melchior, Fordham political science professor Christina Greer and Global IBT Editor-in-Chief Peter Goodman.

Take the money and run! The Obama Administration is trying to crack down on American corporations moving their headquarters abroad to get tax relief, but are its efforts working? And is the real solution to change the tax code here in the U.S. to be more competitive. Yeah yeah – you’re thinking – Sunday morning and talk about taxes. That’s too nerdy for even the nerdiest nerds. Trust us – this one is layered with fascinating nerdy goodness.

Next, To Secure and Seclude.  A series of high profile security breaches has triggered intense scrutiny of the Secret Service and led to the resignation of director Julia Pierson earlier this week. The latest incident involved a man posing as a congressman who gained access to the backstage area of a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation awards dinner where President Obama was speaking. We will look at these events, but also what it means to be isolated by the office of the presidency.

Finally, guest host Dorian Warren sits down with award winning journalist Maria Hinojosa, host of the new PBS series “America by the Numbers.” The series explores the shifting demographics throughout the country.

Be sure to tune in for Melissa Harris-Perry Sunday at 10am ET on msnbc! And don’t forget to let us know what you think on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #nerdland.
