If you haven't been following every move of the former Republican presidential front-runner Herman Cain, you may have missed the launch of the former Republican presidential hopeful's newest venture: CainTV, a "new online network of programming designed to give you the other side of popular culture, politics, entertainment."
CainTV boasts a diverse range of entertainment "without the constraints of networks or Hollywood studios." There are three video channels right now — informative, inspirational and intertainment (ha, get it?) — as well as movies and blogs. Each video channel features various shows and cover a variety of topics, from recollections of the Vietnam War to "Simple Science Moments" with a unnamed host in a bolo tie, and some personal moments with Cain himself ("The Water Tastes the Same: Episode 1").
And, in case you forgot this was a conservative network and the pro-Romney ads didn't tip you off, the first 54-second episode of "Gunless Moments in History" exists to remind you of the Second Amendment and what happens when people don't arm themselves:
"In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, a total of 6 million Jews and 7 million others were unable to defend themselves, and they were rounded up and exterminated."
What's incredible is that Cain isn't even being original when he blames the Holocaust on gun control; as we noted here on the blog, Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, now a candidate for Congress in Ohio, did the same in a colorful and violent YouTube a few weeks ago.
The NOW with Alex Wagner panel reviewed CainTV earlier this week, and Alex herself put it best:
"I am not sure that Herman Cain is not a conceptual art project dreamed up by the far left, actually."
There's definitely a serious Bob Dobbs vibe with Cain, similar to what Rachel Maddow posited about the similarly gonzo Carl Paladino. If you have it figured out, we'd love to hear your theories.
