President Obama is still making his case to Americans on why Bush-era tax cuts must expire for wealthy Americans, this time on Twitter.
You'll recall that the president and his administration started the social media push, asking people to post their stories of what $2,000 means to the—referring of course to the extra taxes that average American families would pay if Congress allowed the Bush tax cuts to expire for everyone, at the end of the year.
With only 29 days left to the brink of the so-called fiscal cliff—or curb—, Obama is hoping that this attempt to coalesce supporters will boost him in his game of chicken with Republicans.
The White House used a similar tactic during last year's debate over extending the payroll tax, encouraging Americans to email and tweet their representatives in Washington using #40dollars. Republicans lost that battle.
Faced with the power of Twitter, will they cave this time around?
