It's glossy, it's glowing, it's Mittzine: And it's coming to a swing state Sunday paper near you

Swing state America, prepared to be thrilled with Willard beyond your wildest newspaper insert dreams on Sunday.

That’s when a pro-Mitt Romney super PAC funded by Joe Ricketts (ask a Cubs fan) is placing a newspaper insert called "Mittzine" that features Romney and Paul Ryan in all their glossy glory. Think of it as a “Parade Magazine” for the Mitt-curious. Or a “Tiger Beat” for the Paul-enthralled. Because it has everything a swing-voter could hope for on a lazy Sunday.

Family bios? CheckCelebrity name-dropping? Double-check.Crossword puzzle? Oh, you know that’s a check.

The New York Times reports that newspapers in certain major urban areas of Wisconsin, Ohio and Iowa will carry the insert, which cost the Ending Spending Action Fund more than $1 million.

Interestingly, this is the second time Ricketts, founder of TD Ameritrade, has found himself in the Times for trying to help Romney’s cause. The last time didn’t go so well, though. Why? Dunno. Something about potentially labeling the president a “metrosexual black Abe Lincoln” who scares white suburban "soccer moms" rubbed people the wrong way.

Also of interest is that crossword puzzle. While most of the clues and answers are utterly harmless (1-Down: “The burger company where Paul Ryan worked as a kid”), one stands out: 12-across, “Producer of ‘Obama 2016’”. That would be (Dinesh) "D’Souza", a darling of the far Right. That is, until it turned out that, for all the whining he did about President Obama forsaking Western values,  had a family values problem of his own.
