Heckuva job on those Olympics, Mitt

Somewhere within a barrage of questions on Benghazi, the fiscal cliff, and the Petraeus love pentagon, a familiar name surfaced at President Obama’s news conference Wednesday: Mitt Romney.

Where have we heard of him before? Ah, yes, the president’s erstwhile challenger, not seen since his trouncing at the polls last week. But with yet another quest underway for a grand bargain on reducing the deficit, the president was asked at his post-election presser, what, if any, of Romney’s ideas he might bring to bear. Ever gracious, the President racked his brain and quickly volunteered, “I do think he did a terrific job of running the Olympics.”

There we have the swiftest skewering on the national scene that wasn’t a New York Times restaurant review.
