President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin are still far apart on how to end the more than two year old civil war in Syria, but conversations continue Tuesday at the G8 summit. Seven of the eight member nations agree Assad must go.

The Director of the NSA finds himself on the hot seat again, answering new questions before Congress over the government's collection of data from Americans' phone records and internet usage. President Obama continued his defense of the government programs in an interview Monday.

NSA leaker Edward Snowden spoke out in a web chat Monday on The Guardian website. "Being called a traitor by Dick Cheney is the highest honor you can give an American," he said, "and the more panicked talk we here from people like, [Sen. Dianne] Feinstein and [Rep. Peter] King, the better of we all are.”
