In a further effort to become a counterweight to the influential NRA, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg's group Mayors Against Illegal Guns is implementing a scorecard system for measuring lawmakers' actions on gun control - much like the NRA does for gun rights. And the group is out with a new ad targeting conservative Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomeny, who's currently in talks with Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia over background checks. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., will weigh in.

msnbc's Geoffrey Cowley joins Jansing & Co. Tuesday to report on Alabama's tough new abortion law, requiring clinics to use doctors with admitting privileges at local hospitals - which in other states has led to clinics shuttering their doors.

And April 9 is Equal Pay Day, symbolizing how far into the new year a woman must work to earn as much as men did the previous year, at the 77 cents-to-a-dollar ratio. We'll talk with iVillage's Kelly Wallace and Essence Magazine's Tanisha Sykes.
