President Obama heads to Boston Thursday for an interfaith service honoring those killed or gravely wounded in Monday's attack on the Boston Marathon. And an update in the case: authorities are searching for two men seen in video near the scene of the Boston Marathon, officials told NBC News.

The President called Wednesday "a pretty shameful day for Washington" after the Senate failed to gather the 60 votes necessary to move forward on a gun control bill requiring background checks for gun show and online sales.

And investigators continue to search for survivors after a deadly explosion at a west Texas fertilizer plant.
