Rep. Waters: GOP in Disarray

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said the fiscal cliff deal isn't perfect, but it was a win for the American taxpayer.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said the fiscal cliff deal isn't perfect, but it was a win for the American taxpayer.

"We Democrats were pleased that we were able to protect the average American family in America.  This was not difficult. We did not get everything. Yes we did kick down the road.  The spending cuts and some other things that have to be considered, but we did protect the American taxpayer and we made sure they didn't have a tax increase," Waters said on Jansing & Co.

She insisted that Democrats would be the ones to lead in the coming months, as more questions and problems loom.  In two months, Congress must deal with the sequester, those automatic cuts they postponed.  The debt ceiling is also set to expire.

"The Republicans are in disarray, they're fighting each other and they begrudgingly had to go along with the leadership we provided," Waters said.
