The political action committee formed by the earliest supporters of a potential second run for the White House by Hillary Clinton, aptly named "Ready for Hillary," is on a steady uphill trajectory as its ranks gain strength.

Building on news last month that Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill is joining its efforts, the group announced Wednesday that a consulting firm headed by members of President Obama's campaign team is also on board.

The firm 270 Strategies, headed by Obama campaign field operatives Mitch Stewart and Jeremy Bird, will lead the pro-Clinton PAC's efforts to "harness the energy of the growing number of activists around the country" hungering for a Hillary Clinton presidency.

According to a statement from the PAC Wednesday, the group claims more than 375,000 Facebook supporters and more than 5,000 grassroots donors.
