Two explosions went off near the finish line of the 117th Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.

Massachusetts Rep. John Tierney, a Democrat, says the Boston Marathon explosions will not deter future major events from happening  but it will change the level of  caution taken beforehand. The House Democrat discussed the coordination by law enforcement in investigating the explosion and vowed they will get to the bottom of this tragedy. Tierney also revealed that a member of his staff , a veteran called up with the National Guard,  is assisting authorities as calls come in for the bomb squad in Boston.
