Hillary may not be the only Clinton woman considering a run for political office in the near future. In an interview that aired Monday on the Today show, her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, left the door tantalizingly open to following in her mother and father's footsteps.

“Right now I'm grateful to live in a city, a state, and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative,” Chelsea Clinton said. “If at some point that weren't true and I thought I could make a meaningful and measurably greater impact, I'd have to ask and answer that question.”

Her comments aired after the famously private former first daughter enjoyed an unusually active weekend in the public eye. Clinton moderated a panel Friday on increasing girls' interest in math and science education during the Newsweek/Daily Beast Women in the World summit, following her mother's crowd-pleasing headline address. She then hosted sessions on human trafficking and child mortality at the Clinton Global Initiative University, a division of her father, former President Bill Clinton's organization aimed toward college students,  in St. Louis on Saturday and Sunday.

Chelsea Clinton also weighed in on the widespread interest over whether her mother, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, would make a second run for the White House in 2016. Enthusiasm over another possible Clinton campaign reached a fever pitch last week when the former secretary made her first two public addresses since leaving the State Department in early February.

“I deeply respect and appreciate all of the admiration and respect and gratitude for my mother's service,” Clinton said on Today. “As a daughter, I very much want her to make the right choice for herself, and I know that will be (the) right choice for our country, and I’ll support her in whatever she chooses to do.”
