Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney may have lost the election, but it certainly was not for lack of confidence.

Ever the prepared, Romney had his transition website all ready to go in the event he won Tuesday night, and for a while a draft version of the site was visible to the public a full day after his defeat. Taegan Goddard, the blogger who discovered the site, managed to save some images before it got taken down.

“I’m excited about our prospects as a nation,” read the opening line from would-be President-elect Romney. “My priority is putting people back to work.”

The website, titled “Mitt Romney Elected the 45th President of the United States of America,” was designed by a Utah software company called SolutionStream. Jason Thelin, one of the company owners, told The Huffington Post that he was not sure if he was allowed to talk about the project, but that it had been “all ready to go.”

On the homepage was a placeholder link to video of Romney’s 1,118-word victory speech, which he also had all ready to go, but never had the chance to deliver.
