The first family was supposed to be the star of one Christmas photo this weekend…but an adorable elf managed to steal the spotlight!

It all happened at the 32nd Annual “Christmas in Washington” charity concert Sunday night to benefit the Children’s National Health System. Five children who are patients at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington dressed as elves and presented the first family with gifts as part of the program.

"Hey, you guys, you going to help us?" Mrs. Obama asked, as the president applauded his little assistants.

"Good job, elves," President Obama said. "Nice job."

The children, ranging in ages from four to five years old, lined up to take a photo with the Obamas after their delivery was complete. First Lady Michelle Obama told the photographers to make funny faces to entertain the children, but one elf decided to make a silly face right back at the camera, cracking up the president and his family.

You can’t say he didn’t take direction from his photographer!

The “Christmas in Washington” concert was hosted by actor Hugh Jackman and also featured performances by the Backstreet Boys, Janelle Monae and Sheryl Crow. It is scheduled to air December 20 on TNT.
