A little girl in Washington heard a special guest was coming to her school to help stuff "play packs" with items for school. But when she found out it was the President of the United States, her reaction was priceless.
"i thought it would be Beyonce," sixth-grader Madison told President Obama. "Then I realized it was gonna be you."
The President and First Lady were at the Inspire School in Northeast Washington, D.C., to stuff backpacks, which were filled with books, chalk, and other items to encourage outdoor play. The packs will be distributed to homeless children at a nearby shelter as birthday gifts. Both of the Obamas were thoroughly amused by Madison's comment.
"Malia and Sasha would feel the same way," replied the President.
"I'd rather see Beyonce," added Michelle Obama.
Young Madison quickly clarified her comment, saying she was "even more excited" to hear the Obamas were coming to her school.
"I appreciate you saying that in front of the press," President Obama quipped. "Even if its not really true."
