#BIGPICTURE: Glacier Patrol race in Switzerland

These rainbow colored blurs you see? They're actually people taking part in the Glacier Patrol race. It's held every two years high up in the alps, and it's pretty extreme. 33 miles of climbing, on skis, through the mountains -- and they're carrying ice axes, too. The race actually got its start back in World War II when the Swiss Army used it to test the abilities of its soldiers. Photographer: Valentin Flauraud for Keystone.
