#BIGPICTURE: Crying baby contest in Japan

Japan has a ritual that goes back hundreds of years, and it's a crying baby contest. That's right -- two sumo wrestlers, two babies, and one referee. The ritual goes back hundreds of years, based on a belief that crying babies live long, healthy lives -- and that the crying also wards off evil demons. Photograph courtesy of Issei Kato, Reuters.
