Grand jury unlikely to vote on Trump indictment this week

It's unclear what's behind the pause on proceedings in the Stormy Daniels hush money case.

It’s looking like next week for possible action against Donald Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money grand jury

Heading into Wednesday, it wasn’t clear whether Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s grand jury was going to hear from another witness, vote on potential charges against Trump — or some combination of the two.

It did neither, for reasons still unclear. I noted that the reason or reasons could be entirely mundane and that a substantive possibility was a final witness who just wasn’t ready to go.

But it appears that the grand jury is meeting Thursday, but won’t be doing so to consider the hush money case, NBC News reported. Business Insider was the first to report the update on Thursday.

The grand jury typically meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, which suggests a potential indictment is unlikely until at least next week.
