Protests in Nigeria turn deadly

Peaceful protests against police brutality in Nigeria quickly escalated to violence, with soldiers opening fire on demonstrators. There are reports of a dozen dead and even more injured. Thousands of Nigerians have protested nationwide every day for nearly two weeks against a police unit known as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, or SARS. Civil rights groups have accused SARS of extortion, harassment, torture and murder.
