During a town hall, President Donald Trump downplayed the effectiveness of mask wearing. During a Congressional testimony the day after the town hall, CDC Chief Dr. Robert Redfield urged mask wearing, saying it can help combat the spread of coronavirus: “We have clear scientific evidence they work … “I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against Covid than when I take a Covid vaccine.”Sept. 16, 2020
