The Friday morning headline is the December’s jobs report: 155,000 jobs were added with the biggest increases in the manufacturing, food services and construction sectors. The 30,000 jobs added in construction was the sector’s biggest monthly net gain since February 2011.

The legislative action in Washington Friday centers on the relief aid for citizens of New York and New Jersey devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Speaker Boehner is expected to put the first $9 billion dollars of aid on the floor for a vote. If that portion passes it will head back to the Senate for a vote by unanimous consent.
