Two weeks left on the trail, and there are too many close Senate races for anyone to predict which party has real momentum. One of the few Democrats with a comfortable lead is in Oregon, where Senator Jeff Merkley is running for re-election.
But with recent poll numbers showing tight races in key states, both parties are pushing hard to secure victories that will help decide who will hold the majority in the Senate. "This is like a novel," Merkley told msnbc's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday. "Suddenly there's a race in Kansas, there's a race in South Dakota...it's full of surprises."
