News that the NSA spied on leaders of friendly goverments is threatening to worsen diplomatic ties between the U.S. and allies. We took a look back at this 1996 report by Andrea Mitchell about France engaging in expionage against the U.S.
According to the report that aired on June 27, 1996, more than 40 of America's closest allies engaged in spying to steal trade secrets worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
