In an address to the nation on Saturday, President Donald Trump offered a compromise of border wall funding in exchange for extending protections for DACA and TPS recipients. The announcement comes amid the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. Trump says that his plan will, "allow Central American minors to apply for asylum in their home countries.”
