Wednesday night on All In with Chris Hayes: the Senate has drafted a resolution on taking military action in Syria and leaders are lining up on both sides of the issue. The resolution gives President Obama approval to intervene in Syria, but caps the length of the action at 90 days and prohibits American boots on the ground. Former Secretary of State and potential 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton came out in support of the president's efforts to take action in Syria, as did the U.S.'s primary pro-Israel lobbyists, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Both chambers of Congress held hearings Wednesday on the use of military force in Syria, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted in favor of the draft resolution, 10-7. Washington Editor of The National Review Robert Costa will join Chris Hayes to discuss the day's developments in the president's push for support of a military strike on Syria.
Plus: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the only member of the Congressional Republican leadership who still has not taken a position on military action in Syria. He may be distracted by what's shaping up to be a tough battle for reelection next year, facing Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes. A member of the National Republican Senatorial Committee hit Grimes hard in an interview Wednesday, calling McConnell's opponent "an empty dress" and "incapable of articulating her own thoughts." McConnell's campaign also attacked Grimes for fundraising out of state, in California--something McConnell did just a few months ago.
