According to 2017 data, West Virginia had the highest rate of opioid-related deaths in the nation. WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey filed 2 civil lawsuits against Endo Health Solutions and Mallinckrodt, alleging that they misrepresented the risks of opioid painkillers.
