In a new anthology of African American history called “Four Hundred Souls”, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones writes in her essay, Arrival, about the origin of the first Black Americans, who arrived on the White Lion a year before the Mayflower. “We tended to treat these histories as if they’re running in parallel, when in fact they’re intertwined.”Feb. 6, 2021
