Blumenthal hopeful background check legislation will return

Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., member of the Armed Services and Judiciary Committees, joins Mara Schiavocampo to discuss the U.S. government’s decision to provide small arms to the rebels in Syria. He says the endgame in Syria has to include avoiding any ground-war, however, tipping the scales and providing small arms is the right course of action. Blumenthal notes that Assad changed the calculus in the Syrian conflict in the killing of thousands of Syrian lives.  He says he's hopeful that the background check bill will be brought back to the Senate by the end of the year, especially since the majority of Americans support background check legislation.
