Is Paula Deen not talking enough?

Chef Paula Deen has been under fire for admitting that she has used the n-word, made racist jokes, and wanted to have “slaves” serve at her brother’s wedding. The resulting public backlash has lost Deen many of her sponsors including Sears, Target, and Home Depot.

Deen has lost $12 million from sponsors pulling the plug, last year she brought in $17 million.

The TV personality and restaurateur did an interview with The Today Show’s Matt Lauer and apologized publicly via YouTube, but Chris Witherspoon, TheGrio’s Entertainment Editor, tells msnbc’s Betty Nguyen, “She hasn’t apologized enough.”

Witherspoon said Deen should apologize over and over “until the media is tired of asking her about that and focus on what we know Paula Deen for, cooking.”

What will save the regretful chef’s empire from crumbling?

“Maybe Oprah,” Witherspoon said.
