Former Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords received the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award Sunday. Giffords stepped down from her seat after she was shot in the head while at a congressional neighborhood event in her home state of Arizona. Giffords created the group, Americans for Responsible Solutions, to promote stronger gun laws.
