Illinois Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno got a few things off of her chest during her "point of personal privilege" remarks on the state floor yesterday. Although the debate during which Radogno's comments were made had to do with "dolla dolla bills" — the debate was over the Illinois budget crisis — quoting Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon seemed to come out of nowhere.Apparently, Raekwon sent a letter to the Republican, brimming with economic advice. It seemed to strike a chord with the state senator. read more

The Tim Pawlenty guy must have been busy. Debbie Georgatos, a candidate for Dallas County Republican Party Chair, will blow your mind with her new ad. In the video, she talks slightly off camera (à la Michele Bachmann, but intentionally so) while somber music plays in the background. It cuts to imagery of slummed out buildings in Detroit and sad baby elephants getting sprayed with a hose. She warns voters of "a super massive blue hole, because we all know what that looks like." read more
