FLOTUS plane forced to abort landing

The Washington Post is reporting a plane carrying Michelle Obama had to make an emergency landing today after it came dangerously close to a 200-ton military cargo jet.Federal officials said pilots had to abort their planned landing at Andrews Air Force Base due to an air traffic controller’s error.Reportedly staffers at Andrews feared the C-17 would not clear the runway in time with the first lady's Boeing 737 quickly approaching. They ordered Obama’s plane to do a series of turns in order to keep them at a safe distance. read more

The unexpected came from Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. The Republican better known for being all anti-immigration, all pro-gun, all the time, shot down two controversial bills late yesterday. Brewer vetoed one requiring proof of U.S. citizenship before appearing on the presidential ballot and another one allowing guns on college campuses."I never imagined being presented with a bill that could require candidates for president of the greatest and most powerful nation on Earth to submit their ‘early baptismal circumcision certificates' among other records to the Arizona secretary of state. read more

First, Michigan approved a sweeping financial statute declaring financial martial law over the state. Now there are reports circulating that Wisconsin might follow suit.Governor Scott Walker denied claims he plans to push for a financial martial law in Wisconsin.
