Newt Gingrich has had a pretty bad time of things since officially launching his bid for the White House. He's been blasted in editorials in both the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal. He's been pelted with a box of glitter. He's enraged Rush Limbaugh (not that enraging Rush is particularly difficult). And Newt apologized to Rep. Paul Ryan for his statements on the freshman Republican's Medicare plan on Meet the Press. read more

The Tim Pawlenty guy must have been busy. Debbie Georgatos, a candidate for Dallas County Republican Party Chair, will blow your mind with her new ad. In the video, she talks slightly off camera (à la Michele Bachmann, but intentionally so) while somber music plays in the background. It cuts to imagery of slummed out buildings in Detroit and sad baby elephants getting sprayed with a hose. She warns voters of "a super massive blue hole, because we all know what that looks like." read more

Well, well, well, move over Max Brooks. This week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a preparation plan for the most wretched judgment day our future may hold. Zombie apocalypse.    We've all seen it in the movies but could it possibly happen? The CDC may think so. Jilted bride saved from suicide jump

Just days before her wedding, a woman in Northeast China tried to jump from her seventh floor apartment when she learned that her fiance had married someone else. The jilted bride, 22-year-old Li-Wan, sat in her wedding dress sobbing on the ledge of her apartment while onlookers watched from below. Luckily,when Li-Wan was about jump, a local police officer caught her by the neck and eventually, with the help of her neighbors, pulled her to safety. Li-Wan was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. The dramatic ordeal was caught on camera. read more
