Over the weekend, Mitt Romney spent time at his vacation home in La Jolla, California — yes, the mansion with the car elevators. Reddit was on the scene to snap a photograph of the presidential candidate and his son Matt marching towards the ocean in wet jumpsuits and holding boogie boards.

President Obama got the same treatment back in 2008 when he was first running for The Oval Office. Photographers constantly documented him splashing around in the water in Hawaii while on family vacations

Modern presidential candidates are known to show off their athletic ability to gain perceptions of health and stamina. Just imagine Romney and Obama face-off in a Bush v. Gore high-stakes surfing contest...who would win then?
