Endearingly passionate, extremely enthusiastic and ridiculously cheerful, Joe Biden and Leslie Knope are a perfect pair. Each is a unique political character (in all senses of the word), and on Thursday’s episode of Parks and Recreation, Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, gets to meet her match.

Vice President Joe Biden made a cameo on the show, which aired Thursday on NBC. The episode was actually filmed in July but because of FCC restrictions on promoting candidates, the top-secret scene couldn't be disclosed until after the election.

Leslie, lead character of the show (she plays the Deputy Director of the Pawnee City Department of Parks and Recreation), has long been an ardent admirer of the vice president, describing her ideal man as having “the brains of George Clooney and the body of Joe Biden.” When Leslie’s fiancé Ben Wyatt decides to give her a surprise engagement present during a visit to Washington, he rustles up the man she claims “is her celebrity sex list.”

The timing couldn't be better. As Leslie Knope herself put it, “to win an election, you have to be good, and you have to be lucky. Like Joe Biden. He’s good, but he was also born incredibly handsome. So that’s lucky.”  It's lucky that "America's Happy Warrior," as President Obama calls him, seems perfectly comfortable in the role of ludicrously improbable dreamboat.
