Just a short time ago, polls closed in the Mississippi and Alabama primaries. The frontrunner Mitt Romney is looking to put an end to Beltway whispers he can’t seal the deal with the nomination — and a win with conservative voters in the deep south would go a long way. Both Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, each trying to knock the other one out of the race, continue their fight to fill the “anyone but Romney” void the Republican Party still seems to crave. The final count is expected to be close between these three candidates.
