Santorum snaps on NYT's Jeff Zeleny

New York Times reporter Jeff Zeleny is no stranger to getting under a presidential candidates' skin.

New York Times reporter Jeff Zeleny is no stranger to getting under a presidential candidates' skin. In a Last Word web exclusive, John Heilemann looked back in campaign history at the multiple times Zeleny has pushed the buttons of notable candidates.

Over the weekend, Jeff Zeleny evoked a now widely watched outburst from Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Zeleny asked Santorum to elaborate on why he thinks Mitt Romney is the worse Republican in the county? Santorum, with a pointed finger in Zeleny's face, exclaimed "stop lying!"

Santorum explained he only believes Mitt Romney is the worst Republican to run against President Obama, in terms of health care.  Santorum then told Zeleny to "quit distorting my words, if i see it, it's bull s--t!"

John Heilemann said this isn't the first or last time Zeleny will ask the, "tweeking, annoyance, asking tough questions that make candidates go wild and bonkers."
