Planned Parenthood clinic firebombed

The FBI is currently investigating the firebombing of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Grand Chute, Wisconsin. The homemade device exploded on a window sill of the health center on Sunday night. The office was closed and no one was inside at the time.

In a statement, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin CEO Teri Huyck reported minimal damage to an exam room. The clinic plans to reopen tomorrow, the same day as the state's primary election.

The anti-Planned Parenthood rhetoric continued on the campaign trail. While noting violence is not the answer, Rick Santorum’s campaign issued a statement that also reiterated their mission "to defund Planned Parenthood and push back against government mandates that force Americans and religious institutions to violate their faith."

In a video titled "A Message to Planned Parenthood Supporters," President Obama praised the organization and promised to keep fighting Republican-led efforts to cut their federal funding. It was taped before Sunday's attack on the clinic.

"For you, and for most Americans, protecting women's health is a mission that stands above politics," Obama said in the video posted last Tuesday. "And yet, over the past year, you've had to stand up to politicians who want to deny millions of women the care they rely on."

A new poll shows women under 50 in swing states now support Obama over Republican frontrunner Willard M. Romney.
