Do you already have plans for Saturday, June 18? President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner do. The two leaders plan to play golf together, a White House official tells NBC News.
So far there's been no information given on where they will play and if any other politicos will join them.
President Obama extended the invitation which is politically well-timed given that Republicans have been pushing the President to take a more active role in negotiations over the budget and the debt ceiling. Earlier today Speaker Boehner said, "If (Obama) wants this agreement done by the end of the month, (he'd) better get going.”
POLITICO also points out that former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs suggested the two men should golf together six months ago in an attempt to work out their political differences.
